Sorry I haven’t been blogging, it’s not that I haven’t had anything to say, it’s that we have been reading, watching DVDs and learning at seminars so much that there has been no time to write and, honestly, I didn’t know where to start… until today.
I saw two videos this morning from the Nike Basketball Pro Training Camp titled Assessment and Physical Training. I am not sure why they were made unavailable but I will check back next week. Anyway, you’ll have to trust me on this, I think they summarized some of the changes you have been seeing at the gym and where we are going with our training.
The two primary things that I would like to focus on in these videos is that our goal by using a formal assessment tool, i.e. the Functional Movement Screen is definitely to be able to train you without hurting you, but most importantly, is that we train you in a way that is customized for you. Secondly, the videos show that many of the leading strength and conditioning coaches are now using the Functional Movement Screen. If you haven’t taken the screen, please talk to Saul or Susan and we will set you with an appointment ASAP.
