FAQ

Joining Classes

Why can’t I start in a regular class?

Because our focus is on quality of instruction, safety and effectiveness, entry into our regular classes is tightly controlled. Clients with no previous CrossFit experience must either progress through the Fundamental Seminar or personal training before being eligible to join the All Levels class. These initial training sessions will allow us to both familiarize you with the program as a whole as well as carefully teach you excellent technique for the program’s foundational exercises. This will ensure that both you and your training partners are able to train to your fullest potential.

I’m super fit. I run and bike and do Yoga. Can’t I just join the regular classes?

In order to ensure your safety and have you train to your fullest potential, we have established standards that you must meet in order to gain entry to our ongoing group classes. If you feel you are super fit and you have a solid grasp of the lifts, please contact us to schedule a test session. Which brings us to…

Already a rock star and want to test in?

Do you already meet the standards for Level 1 or Level 2? Let’s find out! You must schedule a testing appointment with Saul. Testing appointments are $60 each. Testing is Pass/Fail and will be administered for the level you aspire to (All Levels or Elite). You are also accountable for our full movement curriculum. If you do not Pass you will need to start with our Fundamental seminar or personal training to elevate your game.

I train at another CrossFit facility and am traveling through town. Can I drop in on a class?

Clients who do have previous CrossFit experience may be eligible to enter classes directly. Give us a call or shoot us an email and let us know what day you would like to come down. We do not accept drop ins! We will then evaluate your preparedness for the classes. If we believe your skill and capacity are adequate, you will be able to begin attending classes immediately. Our traveling CrossFitter rate is $20/class.

How long will it take for me to progress to the All Levels or the Elite classes?

That depends entirely on you, your level of commitment and what you’re bringing to the game on day one. Someone who eats a clean, high protein/vegetable/fat diet and has an athletic background can progress through the different levels in very short order. For the de-conditioned couch potatoes and the high carb cardio athletes out there…it’s going to take A LOT of work! You will need to modify your nutrition and let go of some old habits if you want to streamline this process and optimize your results.
