We are signed up for the Affiliate Cup Challenge which will be running concurrently with the CrossFit Games, July 10 – 12! No, we don’t have a team set yet. We may have tryouts depending on how many people want to do it. To win, we can’t scale, so everyone has to be able to do pull-ups. If you want to compete, you will have to do weightlifting (cleans, jerks, snatches, etc.), some (additional?) strength training and hill running. This will be hard but super fun. More to come so stay tuned.
The Rules: Only one team per affiliate can compete. Each team has four, five or six athletes, at least two men and two women. One coach per affiliate team will be permitted.
Update: “In little over twelve hours, all 75 team slots for the Affiliate Cup have been sold out. Due to the overwhelming response, we are hoping to allow in a few more teams if the logistics can be worked out.”
I really hate competitions, at least within MDF, but we will have an Affiliate Team Tryout next week. It will be two workouts on two different days.
NOTES:
- I will tell you right now, there are only three spots left. Three spots are going to Heather, Jason and Marshall because they were on board for the qualifiers from the beginning. Breanne is not participating because she is focusing on The Games. I am coaching, not competing. The only way this will change is if Marshall, who has a prior engagement Friday eve., disqualifies himself. No, this is not “fair.” Which brings me to my second point…
- The selection process will not be fair to everyone and for that I sincerely apologize from the beginning.

Jane is welcome to do the workouts but the rules state she has to train here on a regular basis. The workouts are going to be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
