These images are the last digital images I have of Gretchen, my sister Naomi’s dog. I had to carry her into the back of the Forerunner for these images because her hips hurt so much. However, the last image I will choose to keep of her is from two days ago, when she showed me her teeth as I went to pet her in the back of the Forerunner, then, after she smelled my hand, her putting her ears back and letting me pet her. I think we both said “my bad” at the same time. You will be missed Gretchy.

dogs always leave us too soon. they are true little angels on earth. gretchen’s spirit will live on through the lives of all the people whose hearts she touched. RIP girl.
