We’d like to have each Mad Dawg School of Fitness athlete have their own individualized program for pre- and post work-out mobility and stretching. To accomplish this, we’re pulling together several elements for each athlete: Completing the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), identifying mobility / stability issues, and creating a ‘bulls-eye’ that consists of 3 – 5 mobility or stretching movements to do every day that will make a marked difference in your performance inside and outside the gym.

We’re proud to announce our updated Mobility and Stretching Clinic, which will be held on Thursdays, beginning April 26th, from 7 – 8pm and coached by Kris Kruse-Elliott. At this class, you’ll learn how to target the mobility and stretching exercises (your ‘bulls-eye’) that will help you feel and perform better. Please take the opportunity to get the Functional Movement Screen (next chance is Wed, April 18th at 1230 pm or 6pm), and bring it with you to the Mobility and Stretching Clinic so Kris can know where to start with you.

As for Kris, she has been training at Mad Dawg School of Fitness, so you may have seen her in a class. She is FMS level 1 and 2 certified and has trained with Bob Cooley, Tom Longo, and Kelly Starrett. Kris finds and focuses on the most important functional and mobility improvements that will match an athlete’s motivation and goals. Some of the techniques Kris uses are based on the principle that resisting and contracting muscles while stretching eliminates accumulated dense fascia and scar tissue that have resulted from injuries, long term overuse, or just the daily wear and tear of an active lifestyle.

In her spare time, Kris manages a MRI center for pets in Redwood City (she is a board certified veterinary anesthesiologist, a veterinary acupuncturist, and has a PhD in physiology).

Please join us in welcoming Kris to our coaching team – and come try her Mobility and Stretching Class – It’s free to all Mad Dawg School of Fitness athletes.
